Starmie Super Mega Raid Day

What is up, Orange County! The Ultra Unlock events are dropping huge updates, and we have a massive one this weekend. Starmie Super Mega Raid Day is taking over this Saturday, August 22, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM local time.

If you want full lobbies to easily take down these Super Mega Raids, come hang out with the Fullerton GO community. We will be running our usual loops because Downtown Fullerton is the best place to play Pokemon GO in Orange County. There are plenty of great spots around SoCal, but our dense downtown stop cluster and active group make raiding a breeze.

Mega Starmie Counters and Tips

Starmie is a Water and Psychic type, making it weak to Bug, Dark, Electric, Ghost, and Grass moves. Keep in mind that Super Mega Raids feature a shield mechanic, so you absolutely need to bring Mega Evolved Pokemon to break those shields!

Here are the top counters to build your team around:

• Mega Sceptile with Fury Cutter and Frenzy Plant
• Mega Gengar with Shadow Claw and Shadow Ball
• Dawn Wings Necrozma with Shadow Claw and Moongeist Beam
• Mega Tyranitar with Bite and Brutal Swing

Perfect IV Hundo CPs

When you get to the catch screen, keep an eye out for these perfect CP numbers:

• 1476 CP for a perfect normal weather catch.
• 1846 CP if it is boosted by Rainy or Windy weather.

There is also a sweet 1 in 10 shiny chance for this event, plus up to six free raid passes from spinning gyms.
